TELLUS 1S – SHORT PERIOD SEISMOMETER
Tellus-1s is a three-component short-band seismometer that can be used both in active and passive seismology providing great results for local seismic monitoring with an excellent price-performance ratio. Tellus-1s is manufactured using high quality geophones whose frequency response is extended electronically with high thermal stability and low noise components. The transduction factor of every single unit is individually calibrated on the shake table with an accuracy within ±1%.
OVERVIEW
Description
The TELLUS-1s is a high-precision, three-component short-band seismometer designed for both active and passive seismic monitoring. It delivers exceptional performance for local and regional seismic studies, offering one of the best price-to-performance ratios in its class.
High-Quality Design and Precision Calibration
Each TELLUS-1s is built with premium geophones featuring electronically extended frequency response, high thermal stability, and ultra-low noise components.
Every sensor is individually calibrated on a shake table with ±1% accuracy, ensuring consistent and reliable seismic measurements across all installations.
Wide Frequency Response
The instrument provides a flat frequency band from 1 Hz to 100 Hz, ideal for capturing a broad spectrum of ground motion and vibration data.
- Transduction Factor: 400 V/m/s (single-ended)
- Transduction Factor: 800 V/m/s (differential output)
Rugged Construction for Field Use
- Encased in AISI 316 stainless steel, the TELLUS-1s provides IP68-rated protection, ensuring long-term operation in harsh outdoor conditions.
- A hard-coated aluminum housing version is also available as a budget option when extreme ruggedness is not required.
