Buoy Based Ocean Seismic Observation System

Integrated deep-ocean seismic observation system with buoy platform, seabed monitoring station, underwater transmission chain, multi-anchor mooring system, and land-sea data transmission network. Engineered for real-time seismic, hydrological, and environmental monitoring in harsh marine environments.

OVERVIEW

Description

The Buoy Based Ocean Seismic Observation System is a fully integrated, multi-component marine seismic monitoring solution. It is designed for real-time seismic, hydrological, and meteorological observation in deep-water and coastal environments. The system combines a buoy platform, undersea seismic monitoring base station, underwater data transmission chain, anchor and mooring systems. Furthermore, it includes a land-sea data transmission network and a shore-based control and data reception station.

By establishing a three-dimensional ocean observation architecture, the system enables continuous 24/7 monitoring. It watches over seismic activity, seabed deformation, ocean hydrology, and environmental changes.

The buoy platform provides power supply, data communication (satellite & 4G), GNSS timing, AIS collision avoidance, lighting, and onboard monitoring systems.

The underwater seismic unit employs broadband seismometers. These are placed along with auxiliary sensors inside a sealed pressure-resistant housing, which ensures low noise, high stability, and long-term reliability.

The underwater transmission chain ensures secure optical/electrical signal communication between the seabed station and the buoy. Multiple mooring configurations are available—including gravity anchors, electric anchors, chain combinations, and buoyancy modules. These offer stable and adaptive station-keeping under waves, currents, and typhoons.

The land-sea communication subsystem transmits all collected data to coastal base stations and monitoring centers. This enables real-time visualization, alerts, historical playback, and full operational control over the entire observation infrastructure.

This system is ideal for marine earthquake monitoring, tsunami early-warning networks, offshore engineering, seabed deformation studies, and long-term ocean geophysical research.
