SHAKEBOT-40Z – Vertical Seismic Shake Table
Compact Z-axis vertical shake table for AC156-style seismic qualification, uplift–compression testing, and research. High-precision closed-loop control, custom seismic inputs, and cross-platform software support.
OVERVIEW
Description
The SHAKEBOT-40Z is a compact, high-performance single-axis vertical (Z-axis) shake table developed for AC156-style vertical seismic demand testing. It is also used for dynamic qualification and advanced research applications. Designed by QuakeLogic Inc., the system delivers precise, repeatable vertical excitation. This is representative of uplift–compression seismic behavior in nonstructural components.
Purpose-built for vertical seismic simulation, the SHAKEBOT-40Z supports controlled acceleration, displacement, and frequency content consistent with modern seismic qualification methodologies. High-resolution closed-loop motion control ensures accuracy and repeatability across standardized and user-defined test protocols.
The system supports sinusoidal, displacement-controlled, and custom vertical time-history inputs. These are derived from AC156-compatible spectra or site-specific vertical ground motions. Integrated safety systems—including software motion limits, mechanical end-of-stroke sensors, torque-limited motor protection, and emergency stop—ensure safe and reliable operation in laboratory environments.
With cross-platform control software compatibility (Windows, macOS, Ubuntu) and a compact footprint, the SHAKEBOT-40Z is well suited for academic laboratories. It is also suitable for R&D facilities and engineering test centers requiring controlled vertical seismic excitation.
