OVERVIEW

Description

What the QL-CleanWave Pulse 500 Is

The QL-CleanWave Pulse 500 is a handheld, portable pulsed laser cleaning system built around a 500 W pulsed fiber laser source with a 1064 nm central wavelength. It removes rust, paint, coatings, oxide layers, oil residues and surface contaminants from metallic components by ablating the contamination layer with short laser pulses, leaving the base metal intact. The complete system rides on a rugged mobile industrial chassis with integrated casters and storage for the cleaning head and fiber cable, and is supplied ready to operate with laser protective eyewear and an operation manual.

Why Choose a Pulsed 500 W Laser Cleaner

  • Controlled material removal. Pulsed operation meters energy into the surface in short bursts, which minimises thermal and mechanical impact on the substrate compared with continuous-wave cleaning.
  • Tunable process. Operators adjust power, pulse width, pulse frequency and scanning width from the touchscreen so one machine covers delicate oxide removal and heavier paint stripping.
  • Selectable cleaning patterns. Multiple pattern modes and configurable scanning patterns match flat areas, edges, welds and curved geometries.
  • Reach. The lightweight handheld cleaning head gives ergonomic access to complex shapes, confined spaces and difficult-to-reach areas.
  • Safe on reflective metals. Integrated anti-reflection protection supports stable operation on polished and reflective metallic surfaces.
  • No consumables, no waste stream. Unlike sandblasting or chemical stripping there is no media, grit, solvent or sludge to purchase, contain or dispose of.

Who Uses It

Tool and die shops, mold makers, aerospace and automotive maintenance teams, restoration and remanufacturing shops, weld-prep stations, electronics and precision fabrication facilities, and technical colleges that need a safe, repeatable laser cleaning process for heat-sensitive or high-value metal parts.

Applications

  • Rust and oxide removal from steel, cast iron and alloy components
  • Paint and coating removal without substrate damage
  • Mold, die and tooling cleaning without abrasive wear
  • Pre-weld and post-weld surface cleaning
  • Surface preparation before coating, bonding or inspection
  • Localized precision cleaning of confined or difficult-to-access areas

Pulsed 500 W or Continuous-Wave 1.5 kW / 2 kW?

Choose the QL-CleanWave Pulse 500 when surface finish and substrate protection matter more than raw removal speed: molds, tooling, thin stainless or aluminium, precision assemblies. Choose the QL-CleanPro 1500 or QL-CleanPro 2000 continuous-wave systems for heavy rust, mill scale and thick coatings on structural steel where throughput is the priority, and the QL-CleanWave 2000 for wide-area 2 kW cleaning with a 300 mm scan width. The Compare Models tab lists all four side by side.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the QL-CleanWave Pulse 500?

A portable 500 W pulsed fiber laser cleaning machine with a 1064 nm source, touchscreen control and a lightweight handheld cleaning head, used to remove rust, paint, coatings, oxides and residues from metal parts without abrasives or chemicals.

What is the difference between a pulsed and a continuous-wave laser cleaner?

A pulsed laser delivers energy in short, high-peak-power bursts that ablate the contamination layer with very little heat input, so it protects thin, precision or heat-sensitive substrates. A continuous-wave laser such as the QL-CleanPro 1500 or 2000 delivers a steady beam that removes heavy rust, scale and thick coatings faster on robust steel parts.

Which materials can it clean?

Metallic surfaces and components, including steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminium and other alloys. Integrated anti-reflection protection supports work on polished or reflective metals. Send QuakeLogic a sample part if you need confirmation for a specific material or coating.

What power supply does it need?

A 208 VAC, single-phase, 60 Hz supply. The system is mounted on a rugged wheeled chassis with on-board storage for the handheld head and fiber cable, so it can be moved between work areas.

What is included and what warranty applies?

The complete system ships with standard accessories, laser protective eyewear and a full operation manual as a ready-to-operate solution. It is new, current-production equipment with a one-year materials and workmanship warranty and delivery within 60 calendar days of order.

Can it reach confined areas and complex shapes?

Yes. The lightweight handheld head, adjustable scanning width and selectable cleaning patterns are designed for edges, welds, curved surfaces and confined or difficult-to-access areas as well as flat panels.
