OVERVIEW

Description

What the QL-CleanPro 1500 Is

QL-CleanPro 1500 is QuakeLogic’s 1.5 kW continuous-wave fiber laser cleaning machine for industrial surface preparation. It removes heavy rust, mill scale, paint, industrial coatings, oxidation, grease and contaminants from steel and other metallic substrates without abrasive media, chemicals or secondary waste. The laser source, power conditioning, closed-loop water cooling, control interface and safety interlocks are built into one wheeled cart, so a single operator can roll it between workstations and start cleaning without an external chiller.

Why Choose the QL-CleanPro 1500

  • 1,500 W (1.5 kW) nominal CW output delivers steady, controllable energy for repeatable cleaning depth and surface finish on heavy contamination.
  • Replaces sandblasting with no consumable media, no grit embedding, no dust collection and no disposal stream.
  • Self-contained mobile cart with closed-loop water cooling, filtration, low-coolant interlocks, heavy-duty casters and quick-connect utilities.
  • Ergonomic handheld cleaning head with adjustable focal distance and tool-free protective-window replacement; spare windows included.
  • North American safety compliance: ANSI Z136 laser safety, CSA or equivalent certification, keyed enable, emergency stop, interlocks and emission indicators.
  • Turnkey delivery: equipment, delivery, on-site installation, commissioning, a minimum of one full day of operator training, PPE kit, documentation and a 2-year comprehensive warranty.

Customer Benefits

  • Lower operating cost: no blast media, chemicals, filters for grit or hazardous-waste disposal.
  • Faster turnaround: one operator, no masking, no clean-up, immediate readiness for coating or welding.
  • Better coating adhesion: no embedded abrasive particles and no chemical residue on the substrate.
  • Safer workplace: no airborne silica or dust, interlocked laser safety and certified PPE supplied.
  • Predictable results: stable power control holds output against ambient temperature and line-voltage variation.

Who Uses It

Fabrication shops, maintenance departments, shipyards, utilities, remanufacturers, oil and gas service companies, municipal fleets and technical colleges that want to replace abrasive blasting or chemical stripping with a cleaner, repeatable, lower-consumable process. The QL-CleanPro 1500 is specified for moderate-to-heavy rust, scale and coating removal where a compact, self-cooled cart and lower capital cost matter.

Applications

  • Heavy rust and mill scale removal from plate, structures and fabrications
  • Paint and industrial coating stripping without substrate damage
  • Weld preparation and post-weld cleaning of oxidation and spatter
  • Surface preparation before coating, bonding or inspection
  • Oxidation, grease and contaminant removal in maintenance and remanufacturing
  • Instructional fabrication and technical-training environments

QL-CleanPro 1500 or QL-CleanPro 2000?

Both CleanPro models share the same cart, cooling, cleaning head, safety architecture, PPE, training and warranty. The QL-CleanPro 2000 differs only in nominal output. Choose the 1500 for moderate-to-heavy contamination and a lower capital outlay; choose the 2000 for the heaviest scale and the fastest cycle times. For low-heat precision work on tooling and thin parts see the QL-CleanWave Pulse 500; for a 2 kW system with a 300 mm scanning width and respiratory PPE package see the QL-CleanWave 2000. The Compare Models tab lists all four side by side.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the QL-CleanPro 1500?

A 1.5 kW continuous-wave fiber laser cleaning system on a self-contained mobile cart. It removes rust, mill scale, paint, coatings, oxidation and contaminants from metal surfaces without abrasive media or chemicals.

How does the QL-CleanPro 1500 differ from the QL-CleanPro 2000?

Both share the same cart platform, integrated cooling, handheld cleaning head, safety architecture, PPE package, training and 2-year warranty. The 1500 delivers 1,500 W nominal output; the 2000 delivers 2,000 W for the heaviest scale and the shortest cycle times.

Does it need an external chiller?

No. Cooling is fully integrated: closed-loop coolant circulation, temperature control, filtration and low-coolant protection interlocks are built into the cart.

Which safety standards does it meet?

The system complies with ANSI Z136 laser safety standards and ships with CSA or equivalent North American certification. Keyed enable, emergency stop, safety interlocks and emission indicators are standard, and a Risk Assessment Report with MPE calculations is included.

What is included with the system?

Turnkey delivery, on-site installation and commissioning, a minimum of one full day of operator training, operator and maintenance manuals, three sets of ANSI-rated laser safety eyewear, a portable laser safety curtain (minimum 3 m x 2 m), compliant signage and an initial consumables kit with spare protective windows and filters.

What warranty applies?

A two-year comprehensive warranty covers the fiber laser source, cleaning head assembly, power supply and control systems. Consumables and operator damage are excluded. Spare parts and consumables are stocked through North American distribution.

Is a continuous-wave laser cleaner safe for the base metal?

Yes for structural and heavy-gauge steel: the metal-optimised wavelength and adjustable focal distance let operators remove the contamination layer while leaving the substrate intact. For thin, precision or heat-sensitive parts QuakeLogic recommends the pulsed QL-CleanWave Pulse 500 instead.
