FEATURES

Live views for every QL-MINI: Charts, Monitor, 3D Attitude and Diagnostics follow every selected sensor side by side on one UTC time axis, in a light or dark theme.
Plug in and go: a sensor is found, named and shown within seconds. QL-VISIO detects the protocol and baud rate (4,800–921,600 bps) on its own and remembers each sensor by its USB socket, so names stay put when Windows renumbers a port.
One-click recording of every sensor at full rate, with a name you choose: CSV per sensor and one MiniSEED per recording, replayed at original timing through every view.
Runs as a Windows service from boot: recording carries on unattended and after a power cut, and every Windows account sees the same sensors and recordings.
Engineering analysis built in: Fourier spectrum with Konno–Ohmachi smoothing, Welch PSD, spectrogram and response spectrum (PSA, PSV, SD, 0.01–10 s, several dampings).
Ground-motion measures at a click: PGA, PGV, PGD, RMS, Arias intensity, CAV, significant duration D5–95 and mean period Tm, with every plot zoomable and downloadable.
Processing presets for strong motion, structural vibration, ambient noise and slow tilt: baseline correction, taper, notch, spike removal, Butterworth filters of order 1–8, integration to velocity and displacement, resampling.
Exports for the tools you already use: MiniSEED (ObsPy, SeisComP, Swarm), SAC, PEER AT2 (OpenSees, SeismoSignal), MATLAB .mat, Excel .xlsx, CSV, text and JSON, raw or processed, in any acceleration unit.
Share with one switch: other devices on the network open the PC address in a browser with nothing to install. Viewer and operator passwords decide who may configure, calibrate or delete.
No internet after setup: installs from the USB stick shipped with every sensor, and the web edition runs on any computer with Python 3.9+, including Raspberry Pi.

FAQs

Which sensors does QL-VISIO work with?
QL-VISIO is the software side of the QL-MINI family. It works with the QL-MINI accelerometer and inclinometer over its USB cable, the QL-MINI Modbus pitch and roll sensor over RS-232, and the QL-MINI-SHM structural health monitoring vibration sensor over RS-485 using Modbus RTU. There is no set limit on the number of sensors per PC; each sensor uses its own port, is found and named within seconds of being plugged in, and is remembered by its USB socket. Every QL-MINI ships with QL-VISIO and the quick start on a USB stick.
Do I need an internet connection, a cloud account or a licence server?
No. QL-VISIO installs offline from the USB stick that ships with every sensor; the PC goes online once, only for the sensor USB driver. Sensor data, recordings and settings stay on your Windows 11 PC, network sharing is off by default, and upgrades keep your passwords, settings, sensor names and recordings. Installation requires administrator rights on a 64-bit Windows 11 computer. A web edition also runs on any computer with Python 3.9 or newer, including Raspberry Pi.
Can several people watch the same sensors at once?
Yes. Switch on sharing and other devices on the network open the PC address in Edge, Chrome or Firefox with nothing to install. Two roles control access: viewers can watch, analyse, export and start or stop recordings, while operators can also configure and calibrate sensors, add, remove or rename them, delete or replay recordings and manage sharing and passwords. The operator password is chosen during setup; there is no default password. At the PC itself, every Windows account sees the same sensors and recordings.
What analysis can I do without leaving QL-VISIO?
Every recording keeps every sample from every sensor. In the app you can plot waveforms, Fourier spectra with Konno–Ohmachi smoothing, Welch power spectral density and spectrograms, and compute the response spectrum (PSA, PSV, SD) from 0.01 to 10 s at several damping ratios. Engineering measures include PGA, PGV, PGD, RMS, Arias intensity, cumulative absolute velocity (CAV), significant duration D5–95 and mean period Tm. Processing presets for strong motion, structural vibration, ambient noise and slow tilt apply baseline correction, tapering, notch and spike removal, Butterworth low, high, band-pass or band-stop filters of order 1 to 8, integration to velocity and displacement, and resampling. Every plot zooms, saves as PNG and downloads its data.
Which file formats can I export, and which tools open them?
QL-VISIO exports MiniSEED for ObsPy, SeisComP and Swarm; SAC for seismic analysis tools; PEER AT2 for OpenSees and SeismoSignal; MATLAB .mat for MATLAB and Python; Excel .xlsx for spreadsheets and reporting; and CSV, text and JSON for any other tool. You choose raw or processed data, the sensors and channels, and the acceleration unit (g, mg, %g, gal, m/s² or µg). Several files download together as one ZIP, and any live chart window can be saved as PNG or exported as CSV.
Does QL-VISIO record unattended, and does it detect earthquakes?
QL-VISIO runs as a Windows service that starts with Windows before anyone signs in, so recording continues unattended and resumes after a power cut. It displays, records and analyses sensor data; it does not detect earthquakes or raise alarms. For earthquake early warning and automated shutdown, QuakeLogic offers QuakeAlert and the QuakeRelay smart relay within the same Quake Series, and our engineers in Roseville, California help with setup, sensors and data.
