The QL-UHS C+L Band Optical Switching FBG Interrogator Series is a portable, ultra-high-speed fiber optic sensing platform for real-time monitoring of fiber Bragg grating and compatible Fabry-Perot interferometry sensors. It supports 2 to 8 fiber channels, up to 16 FBG sensors per fiber channel, C+L band operation, integrated industrial computing, Ethernet connectivity, and concurrent sampling speeds from 976 kS/s to 31.25 MS/s.
The QL-UHS C+L Band Optical Switching FBG Interrogator Series is a high-performance optical sensing and data acquisition platform. It is designed for demanding test, monitoring, and measurement environments. Moreover, it is engineered for ultra-fast and highly accurate interrogation of fiber Bragg grating sensors across multiple channels. This makes it suitable for structural health monitoring, aerospace testing, defense applications, mining, vibration analysis, acoustic emission monitoring, and advanced laboratory research.
This series supports 2 to 8 fiber channels and can monitor up to 16 FBG sensors per fiber channel. As a result, it enables dense multi-point sensing in a compact portable system.
The interrogator operates across an approximately 80 ±3 nm C+L band spectral range. It covers roughly 1527 ±1.5 nm to 1607 ±1.5 nm. Therefore, this provides a wider optical bandwidth than standard C-band-only platforms.
It supports real-time measurement of strain, vibration, acoustic emission, and temperature. Additionally, it supports derivative measurands such as pressure, acceleration, and force.
The product family is available in multiple ultra-high-speed variants. These include 976 kS/s, 1.3 MS/s, 1.95 MS/s, 3.90 MS/s, 7.81 MS/s, 15.62 MS/s, and 31.25 MS/s. Thus, the system can be selected according to the required bandwidth and event-capture performance.
Depending on the model, the measurable signal frequency range extends from DC to approximately 415 kHz. It also goes up to DC to approximately 13.3 MHz.
Pages 2 through 7 present the AI-enabled series models. In contrast, page 1 presents the 1.3 MS/s version with the same general CL-band sensing architecture. That version supports up to 16 FBGs per fiber channel.
Measurement performance is designed for precision sensing, with resolution below 1 pm and sub-0.1 pm with FFT. It also features absolute accuracy better than ±5 pm.
FBG-based temperature measurement range is listed as -200°C to 300°C. There is also an option for up to 1000°C. Meanwhile, FBG-based strain range is ±2,000 µε with 16 FBGs/fiber and ±4,000 µε with 8 FBGs/fiber.
The platform is also designed for harsh environments, operating from -10°C to +55°C and storing from -20°C to +70°C.
The system includes an integrated industrial computer with 32 GB RAM and 4 TB NVMe SSD storage. This enables real-time acquisition, local data logging, and post-processing.
The AI-enabled models include an integrated 26 TOPS AI processing module with TensorFlow and ONNX support.
Communication is provided through Ethernet, and the system software is HiSenseView®, with a customizable API listed for the AI versions.
The system uses FC or E2000 APC optical connectors and ~17 dBm source optical power. It also uses 110 to 260 VAC universal power input.
Standard warranty is 15 months.
