QL-SpectraMax Pro 6500 Simultaneous ICP-OES Spectrometer

The QL-SpectraMax Pro 6500 is a simultaneous full-spectrum ICP-OES spectrometer for rapid multi-element analysis. It is optimized for high-salinity and high-TDS samples, including produced water, lithium brines, geological digests, and DLE process streams. The system features dual-view plasma observation, a cooled CCD detector, high-matrix sample introduction, online argon dilution, and a 180+ position autosampler.

OVERVIEW

Description

Fast Multi-Element Analysis

The QuakeLogic QL-SpectraMax Pro 6500 is a simultaneous ICP-OES spectrometer. It is designed for fast and accurate multi-element analysis.

The system measures trace and major elements in one run. Therefore, laboratories can process samples faster and reduce repeated testing.

It supports three analysis modes:

  • Qualitative analysis
  • Semi-quantitative analysis
  • Quantitative analysis

The instrument is suitable for environmental, mining, energy, industrial, and research laboratories.

Built for High-Salinity Samples

The QL-SpectraMax Pro 6500 can analyze difficult liquid samples. For example, it can handle produced water, lithium brines, high-TDS water, and DLE process streams.

A high-salt sample system reduces salt buildup. In addition, the vertical quartz torch helps keep the sample path clean.

The system also uses online argon dilution. As a result, users can test concentrated samples with less manual preparation.

This design helps reduce:

  • Dilution errors
  • Sample preparation time
  • Salt deposits
  • Carryover
  • Operator workload

Full-Spectrum CCD Detection

The instrument uses a cooled CCD detector. It captures the full spectrum in one measurement.

Moreover, the system provides a linear dynamic range greater than 10⁵. Therefore, it can measure both low and high element levels in the same run.

This method improves speed and repeatability. It also supports large sample batches.

High-Resolution Optical System

The QL-SpectraMax Pro 6500 uses a fixed echelle optical system. It covers wavelengths from 160 to 900 nm.

The optical chamber has temperature control. Therefore, it maintains stable performance during long runs.

The optical resolution is ≤0.007 nm FWHM at 200 nm. As a result, the system can separate nearby emission lines more clearly.

Dual-View Plasma Observation

The instrument supports several plasma viewing modes:

  • Axial
  • Radial
  • Bi-directional
  • Simultaneous dual-view

Axial viewing provides strong sensitivity for trace elements. In contrast, radial viewing is useful for major elements and high-matrix samples.

Therefore, users can select the best view for each method. The system can also measure both views at the same time.

Stable Digital RF Generator

The system uses a fully digital RF generator. It operates at 27.12 MHz.

Users can adjust the RF power from 500 to 1600 W. In addition, automatic tuning helps keep the plasma stable when the sample matrix changes.

RF power stability is ≤0.1%. Therefore, the instrument delivers steady results during long test runs.

High-Matrix Sample Introduction

The sample introduction system is designed for concentrated and difficult samples.

It includes:

  • High-TDS quartz nebulizer
  • Quartz cyclonic spray chamber
  • Vertical quartz torch
  • HF-resistant sampling system
  • Online argon dilution
  • Programmable peristaltic pump
  • Multi-channel gas-flow control

Together, these parts improve sample flow and reduce salt deposits. They also support acid-digested geological samples.

Automated Sample Handling

The system includes an autosampler with more than 180 sample positions.

It can process:

  • Samples
  • Blanks
  • Calibration standards
  • Quality-control solutions
  • Diluted brine samples

Furthermore, automatic rinse programs help reduce carryover. Therefore, laboratories can run large batches with less operator input.

Reliable Analytical Performance

The instrument provides analytical precision of ≤0.5% RSD.

In addition, long-term stability is ≤1% RSD over eight hours. This makes the system suitable for continuous laboratory use.

Automatic wavelength correction also helps maintain stable results over time.

Software and Data Management

The included software supports instrument control, method setup, data review, and reporting.

It also includes a library with more than 50,000 emission lines. Therefore, users can select suitable wavelengths and check possible interference.

Software functions include:

  • Full-spectrum data storage
  • Result review
  • Data reprocessing
  • Automatic wavelength correction
  • Method development
  • User management
  • Audit trails
  • Electronic records
  • Remote diagnostics

In addition, the software supports 21 CFR Part 11 functions for regulated laboratories.

Complete Laboratory Package

The QL-SpectraMax Pro 6500 can be supplied as a complete system.

The package includes:

  • ICP-OES spectrometer
  • High-matrix sample system
  • High-capacity autosampler
  • Recirculating cooling unit
  • Control workstation
  • Analytical software
  • Spectral library
  • Automatic rinse system
  • Data-management tools

The system combines full-spectrum detection, dual-view plasma observation, high-salt sample handling, and automated operation. Therefore, it is a practical solution for fast and reliable elemental analysis.
