QL-MillMaster Manual Knee Milling Machine

The QL-MillMaster is an industrial manual knee milling machine for milling, drilling, boring, slotting, facing, and contouring. It features a variable-speed R8 spindle, a swiveling and tilting head, digital readout, table power feed, and a large 49 × 9-inch worktable.

OVERVIEW

Description

Precision Manual Milling Performance

The QuakeLogic QL-MillMaster is a factory-new manual knee milling machine. It is designed for machine shops, maintenance facilities, manufacturing programs, and technical training centers.

The machine supports many common machining operations. These include milling, drilling, boring, slotting, facing, and contouring.

Its knee-and-column structure provides stable manual control. Meanwhile, hardened guideways help the machine maintain accuracy during demanding work.

Variable-Speed R8 Spindle

The QL-MillMaster includes a variable-speed vertical milling head. It also uses the widely supported R8 spindle taper.

The operator can adjust spindle speed to suit different tools and materials. Therefore, the machine can handle both light finishing work and heavier cutting tasks.

The spindle and head support:

  • Face milling
  • End milling
  • Drilling
  • Boring
  • Slot cutting
  • Contour milling
  • Angular milling

Swiveling and Tilting Head

The milling head can swivel and tilt. This feature allows the operator to machine angled surfaces and compound features.

As a result, many angular operations can be completed without moving the workpiece to another machine. This saves setup time and expands the range of possible part geometries.

Large Precision-Ground Worktable

The QL-MillMaster includes a precision-ground worktable with a minimum size of 49 × 9 inches (1,245 × 229 mm).

The large table can support sizable workpieces. It can also hold vises, fixtures, and multiple-part setups.

The machine provides:

  • Minimum X-axis travel of 32.7 in (831 mm)
  • Minimum Y-axis travel of 12 in (305 mm)
  • Knee-and-column vertical movement

These travel ranges provide useful capacity for general machine-shop work.

Digital Readout System

An integrated digital readout displays the machine’s axis position. This helps the operator locate features and repeat machining positions.

The digital display can reduce manual measurement time. It can also support more accurate part-to-part setups.

Therefore, the system is useful for both production work and machining instruction.

Table Power Feed

The QL-MillMaster includes a table power-feed system. It provides a controlled feed rate during longer cuts.

A steady feed can improve surface finish. It can also reduce operator fatigue during repeated or extended machining operations.

Automatic Lubrication and Coolant

The automatic lubrication system supplies oil to key machine surfaces. This reduces wear and helps maintain smooth axis movement.

The integrated coolant system controls heat and removes chips from the cutting area. As a result, it can extend tool life and improve surface quality.

Work Area and Accessories

The machine includes a work light for better visibility. It also includes a chip tray and splash protection to keep the work area cleaner.

A standard accessory package supports installation and initial operation. It includes a drawbar, operating tools, workholding accessories, clamping accessories, leveling pads, and anchor hardware.

Electrical Configuration and Documentation

The QL-MillMaster is available with a United States-compliant electrical configuration. English-language operation and maintenance manuals are also included.

These documents support installation, training, daily use, and routine maintenance.

The datasheet defines the QL-MillMaster as an industrial manual knee milling machine with a variable-speed R8 spindle, tilting head, digital readout, power feed, and a 49 × 9-inch worktable.
