OVERVIEW
Description
Digital Array (DA): High-Performance Multi-Sensor Data Logger
The Digital Array (DA) is a compact, cost-effective, and portable real-time data logger (digitizer) designed for efficient multi-sensor data acquisition. It seamlessly integrates with mono-, bi-, and triaxial MEMS or force balance accelerometers (FBAs), tiltmeters, and seismometers via a high-speed digital bus, enabling precise synchronization and flexible sensor configurations.
Reliable Digital Architecture & Long-Distance Connectivity
Unlike traditional analog systems, the DA system uses fully digital sensors, transmitting data through a standard low-cost CAT-6 cable. This allows for long cable runs without signal attenuation, ensuring accurate and reliable data acquisition even at extended distances.
Scalable & Synchronized Data Streaming
A PC interface or SL06 recorder with GPS ensures accurate timing, data logging, and processing. Sensors are linked in a daisy-chain configuration, with each branch supporting up to 8 nodes. Multiple branches can be configured to stream data via TCP/IP and SeedLink protocols, providing seamless integration with widely used seismic and monitoring systems.
For example, a master recorder can manage:
- Two branches with 4 nodes each
- A single branch with 8 interconnected nodes
This modular approach allows flexible deployment across a range of monitoring applications.
Borehole Sensor Integration for Subsurface Monitoring
The DA system is also fully compatible with borehole sensors, enabling high-precision subsurface data acquisition. With its digital borehole sensor nodes featuring an automatic locking mechanism, users can easily configure vertical sensor arrays within a single borehole, ensuring optimal performance in geotechnical and seismic studies.
Cost-Effective & High-Performance Solution
One of the DA system’s greatest advantages is its cost-effectiveness, delivering high-end performance at a competitive price. Its digital architecture and long-distance CAT-6 connectivity guarantee synchronized, interference-free data transmission, making it an ideal choice for deep borehole installations and large-scale seismic networks.
The Digital Array (DA) system is a powerful, scalable, and affordable solution for advanced seismic monitoring, structural health analysis, and geophysical applications.
Key Features:
✅ Ideal for Earthquake Early Warning & Structural Health Monitoring – Forms small-aperture seismic arrays for rapid event detection and infrastructure monitoring.
✅ Rapid Deployment – Clients report 7x faster surveys than traditional analog systems.
✅ Simplified Cabling – Uses low-cost CAT-6 data cables, allowing for longer cable runs without the signal attenuation issues of analog cables.
✅ Energy-Efficient – Consumes <15W per 8-node branch; a 12V-80Ah battery supports operations for several days.
✅ Modular & Future-Proof – Designed for easy upgrades and repairs, extending product lifespan and reducing waste.
✅ High Precision – Comes with a Calibration Certificate, including a transfer function (poles and zeroes) for accuracy.
✅ Secure Deployment – Adjustable tripod mount ensures stable sensor positioning for precise data collection.
The DA system is a scalable, synchronized, and reliable seismic monitoring solution, making it an ideal choice for earthquake early warning, structural health monitoring, and real-time hazard detection applications.
