OVERVIEW

CUBE is an onsite earthquake early warning (EEW) command center, alarm device, and data logger for buildings and facilities that need to detect strong shaking locally, warn people immediately, and trigger protective actions automatically. It combines an industrial 7-inch touchscreen, a 4-color LED indicator, a high-dB voice speaker, and 4 relay outputs in one wall-mounted unit, so a single device covers display, alarm, control, and recording.

CUBE receives real-time data from up to 30 networked Palert-series or AC200-series seismic instruments and applies P-wave (Pd), PGA, PGV, STA/LTA, and seismic-intensity trigger logic with N-of-M voting to reject single-sensor false alarms. Alerts reach people through the screen, voice broadcast, LINE, and MQTT messages, and reach equipment through relays, Modbus TCP, and user-defined API hooks for elevators, gas valves, production lines, and building management systems. Continuous or event-triggered waveform recording is stored on 32 GB of onboard storage, expandable to 64 GB.

The embedded HAZUS Rapid Structural Health Diagnosis (RSHD) algorithm uses a three-accelerograph installation to estimate inter-story drift and report a preliminary structural damage state within about one minute of a felt earthquake, helping facility teams decide whether a building is safe to re-enter.

Why choose CUBE?

  • One device for onsite earthquake early warning, local alarm, automated control, and seismic data logging.
  • Multi-sensor N-of-M voting and configurable Pd, PGA, PGV, STA/LTA, and intensity thresholds reduce false alarms.
  • Open integration through Modbus TCP, MQTT, SeedLink, LINE, relays, and API hooks for SCADA, BMS, and elevator systems.
  • HAZUS RSHD delivers a rapid post-earthquake building safety indication, not just an alarm.
  • QuakeLogic supplies compatible Palert sensors, sirens, and engineering support for threshold planning, wiring, and commissioning.

FAQs

What is CUBE and what does it do?
CUBE is an onsite earthquake early warning command center, alarm device, and data logger. It collects real-time data from networked Palert-series seismic sensors, detects strong shaking using P-wave, PGA, PGV, and intensity logic, warns people through a 7-inch touchscreen, LED indicator, and voice speaker, drives relay outputs and Modbus devices, and records the waveforms for later analysis.
Which sensors can CUBE connect to?
CUBE accepts up to 30 networked Palert-series or AC200-series seismic instruments over Ethernet, one SeedLink server source for third-party accelerographs, and sensors that output the CWB RTD packet format. QuakeLogic supplies compatible Palert, Palert-F330, and Palert S303 sensors.
How does CUBE decide when to raise an alarm?
Alarms follow configurable thresholds for P-wave displacement (Pd), peak ground acceleration (PGA), peak ground velocity (PGV), STA/LTA, and seismic intensity on the MMI, JMA, KMA, GB/T, or CWB scales. N-of-M voting across several sensors reduces false alarms, and separate day and night voice-alarm intensity levels can be set. CUBE can also receive regional earthquake early warning messages from supported EEW servers.
Can CUBE control elevators, gas valves, or a SCADA system?
Yes. CUBE provides 4 relay output sets, can write to Modbus TCP digital-output devices when shaking exceeds a set intensity, publishes MQTT and LINE messages, and calls user-defined API scripts on event rising and falling edges. SCADA, MES, and building management systems read status and control CUBE through Modbus TCP.
What is HAZUS Rapid Structural Health Diagnosis (RSHD)?
RSHD is an embedded algorithm that uses three accelerographs installed at different building heights to estimate inter-story drift ratio after a felt earthquake and compare it with HAZUS damage-state thresholds. CUBE reports a preliminary structural damage state within about one minute and can activate a relay for extensive damage. An RSHD cloud service is available on request.
What is the price of CUBE and what is included?
The published price of CUBE is USD $3,850 for the CUBE command center unit. Palert seismic sensors, sirens, and rain gauges are ordered separately. QuakeLogic provides configuration review, threshold planning, wiring guidance, and commissioning support.
